Compact USB-powered document scanner for mobile

The Ambir DS490-AS is a duplex sheet-fed scanner that captures both sides of a page in one pass. It measures roughly the size of a three-hole punch and draws all power from a USB 2.0 port, so no external adapter is required. The device suits professionals who scan receipts, forms or ID cards at a desk or on the road.

Check USB port and operating system before ordering

Your computer must provide a standard USB 2.0 Type-A connection; the scanner is compatible with USB 1.1 ports but will run at the slower 1.1 speed. Supported Windows versions include 10, 8, 7, Vista, XP and 2000 in both 32-bit and 64-bit editions where applicable. No separate driver download is needed for basic TWAIN operation.

Included AmbirScan software adds straight-to-PDF

The bundled AmbirScan application lets you scan directly to searchable PDF files without opening a separate program. AutoContinue removes the per-scan prompt so batches of invoices, insurance cards or legal forms move through unattended. TWAIN compliance also keeps the hardware working with most existing document-management packages.
