Six-Core Ryzen 5 3500X for AM4 Builds

The AMD Ryzen 5 3500X is a six-core desktop processor that fits the Socket AM4 platform. It targets gamers and mainstream users who want solid performance without moving to higher core counts. The chip ships with a Wraith Spire cooler in the box. An unlocked multiplier allows manual frequency tuning for enthusiasts.

32 MB L3 Cache and DDR4 3200 Support

The processor provides 32 MB of L3 cache plus 3 MB of L2 cache to keep data close to the six cores. Base clock runs at 3.6 GHz with a single-core boost up to 4.1 GHz for burst workloads. Dual-channel DDR4 3200 memory is supported natively. The 65 W TDP means thermal headroom is modest under sustained all-core loads.

PCI Express 4.0 and 3.0 Compatibility

The AM4 socket links the CPU to the chipset and graphics slot through PCI Express 4.0 and 3.0 lanes depending on the motherboard chipset. No integrated graphics are present, so a discrete video card is mandatory. Platform bandwidth scales with the chosen chipset and slot configuration. Overclocking is possible but not covered by the standard warranty.

Questions about this item

Will the AM4 socket and 65 W TDP let me keep my current DDR4 3200 memory and cooler when I swap in the Ryzen 5 3500X?

The processor fits Socket AM4 and runs at 65 W TDP, so it works with existing AM4 motherboards and DDR4 3200 modules; a Wraith Spire cooler is included if you prefer to use the stock solution.

How can I verify the 6 cores are hitting the 4.1 GHz max turbo after installation?

Open Ryzen Master or a hardware monitor and watch the core clocks under load; they should reach 4.1 GHz on active cores when thermal and power headroom allow.

Does the 100-100000158CBX box contain a heatsink or do I need to buy one separately?

The retail package includes the Wraith Spire heatsink and fan, so no separate cooler purchase is required for standard operation.
