Unlocked desktop processor

AMD Ryzen 7 5700X is an 8-core, 16-thread desktop CPU built on the Zen 3 architecture. It reaches a 4.6 GHz max boost clock and provides 36 MB of cache. The multiplier is unlocked for overclocking and it supports DDR4-3200 memory.

Builders who need eight cores on Socket AM4

This processor fits users upgrading an existing AM4 system or assembling a new one on X570 or B550 motherboards with PCIe 4.0 support. It is not for buyers who require an included cooler, as none is supplied in the box. It also does not suit builds that need integrated graphics, so a discrete graphics card is mandatory.

90 °C maximum operating temperature

The Tjmax of 90 °C defines the thermal ceiling you must plan for when selecting a cooler. With no stock cooler provided, you need an aftermarket solution rated to handle the heat output of an 8-core, 16-thread chip under sustained loads.

Questions about this item

Will the Ryzen 7 5700X fit a motherboard with Socket AM4?

Yes, this processor is built for the advanced Socket AM4 platform and will seat in any AM4 motherboard socket.

What is the installation step people often miss when fitting this unlocked CPU?

Because the 5700X ships without a cooler, the critical step is mounting a compatible AM4 cooler and applying thermal paste before first power-on.

How hot can the 5700X run before it needs a better cooler or fresh thermal paste?

The maximum operating temperature (Tjmax) is 90°C; sustained loads near that level mean you should upgrade cooling or replace the thermal interface.
