Ryzen 7 5800X 8-Core Desktop Processor

This tray processor delivers eight cores and sixteen threads for high-frame-rate gaming and simultaneous streaming. It operates at a 3.8 GHz base clock with a maximum boost up to 4.7 GHz and includes 36 MB of cache. The 105 W TDP requires a capable cooler purchased separately.

Socket AM4 Motherboard Compatibility Check

Verify that your motherboard uses the AM4 socket and a 500-series chipset such as X570 or B550 to enable PCIe 4.0 support. A BIOS update may be required before the CPU will post, even on newly purchased boards. Confirm the update procedure with your board vendor.

Upgrade From Older AM4 CPUs

Replacing a previous-generation Ryzen 7 or Ryzen 5 on the same platform adds two extra cores, higher boost clocks and the larger 36 MB cache. The jump is worthwhile when you need stronger 1080p gaming performance and smoother multitasking for streaming or content creation.
