Seaming Tape for Film and Sheeting

This four-inch-wide polyethylene tape comes in a 180-foot roll with a 12-mil thickness. It uses a pressure-sensitive rubber adhesive designed to bond construction film, greenhouse covers, plastic sheeting rolls and tarps. The white backing makes seams easy to spot during installation.

Temperature Range and Surface Compatibility

The adhesive performs between 50 and 180 degrees Fahrenheit, so it suits typical job-site conditions but not extreme cold or high-heat environments. It is built for polyethylene-based films and sheeting; users needing to join fabrics, metals or other substrates should select a different tape.

Roll Format for Continuous Sealing

Supplied as a single roll, the tape feeds cleanly for long, uninterrupted seams on large sheeting projects. The 12-mil backing resists tearing while you work, reducing waste and rework. No dispenser or additional tools are included, so plan your application method accordingly.

Questions about this item

What surface must I already have in place for the 4 in wide polyethylene backing to adhere to?

Apply the tape to construction film, greenhouse covers, plastic sheeting rolls or tarps; the rubber pressure-sensitive adhesive bonds to those polyethylene surfaces.

Will the adhesive hold if the seam sees temperatures below the 50 Degrees F minimum rating?

Performance is rated down to 50 Degrees F; below that the bond may weaken, so keep the seam within the 50 to 180 Degrees F range.

How can I confirm the 12 mil tape is sealing correctly after I press it onto the overlap?

Run a hand along the seam — uniform tack with no lifted edges or wrinkles shows the pressure-sensitive adhesive has made full contact.
