Personal Safety Alarm with Flashlight

The AmerTac SEC200 is a compact personal safety device that combines an ultra-loud siren with a built-in LED flashlight. It is designed for individuals who want a portable deterrent that fits easily in a pocket, purse or the palm of a hand. A belt clip provides a convenient hands-free carrying option. The unit ships with a battery included.

Alarm Volume and Light Utility

The siren produces a sound level rated between 60 and 100 decibels to startle an assailant and draw attention from bystanders. The integrated LED flashlight adds visibility in low-light conditions but is not a substitute for a dedicated high-output torch. Both functions rely on the supplied battery, which will require periodic replacement to maintain readiness.

Upgrade From Basic Whistles or Keychain Alarms

This device replaces passive noisemakers or simple keychain alarms that lack illumination. The jump is worth it when you need a single tool that provides both an audible distress signal and a light source for navigating dark areas. It is not suited for users who require a monitored emergency response system or a device with GPS location sharing.

Questions about this item

Should I rely on the 60 dB level or the 100 dB peak when deciding if this alarm is loud enough?

The siren ranges from 60 to 100 dB; expect the higher output in short bursts, while the lower figure represents sustained volume.

How far will the 100 dB siren carry in a real street or hallway?

At 100 dB the sound is comparable to a motorcycle at close range and will attract attention across a typical street or building corridor.

What power connection does the SEC200 use and does it limit runtime?

It ships with an included replaceable battery; no charging port or cable is required, so runtime depends only on the cell installed.
