Nonsparking 15/16" Socket
This 3/8" drive SAE socket is made from aluminium bronze for nonsparking use in hazardous environments. It meets FM Approved and ASTM A342 standards for safety compliance. The 6-point hex opening grips fastener flats to reduce rounding. It is designed for hand operation only and is not impact rated.
Aluminium Bronze Construction
The unfinished aluminium bronze body resists corrosion and eliminates spark generation during use. A standard wall thickness keeps the profile compatible with common 3/8" drive ratchets and extensions. The 6-point geometry distributes torque across flat surfaces rather than corners. This construction suits maintenance tasks where fire or explosion risk must be minimised.
Hand-Only Drive Limitation
The socket carries no impact rating, so it must not be used with powered impact wrenches. The 3/8" square drive limits the maximum torque that can be applied safely by hand. Users needing higher torque or powered driving should select a tool rated for that service. The SAE sizing restricts application to inch-based fasteners only.

Questions about this item
Does the 3/8 in drive limit the torque I can apply compared to larger drives?
Yes, the 3/8 in square drive caps practical torque below what a 1/2 in drive can transmit, so high-torque fasteners need a larger drive tool.
What clearance does the 15/16 in hex socket need on the fastener and in the work area?
The 15/16 in hex opening fits that exact SAE size; the aluminum bronze body is unfinished, so allow extra wrench swing space around the fastener.
How do I install this socket on my ratchet, and what mistake should I avoid?
Press the 3/8 in drive square onto the ratchet anvil until the detent ball locks; the common error is not fully seating it, causing the socket to detach under load.
