Converts 90–264 VAC to 12 VDC at 8.4 A with over 85 % efficiency in a 38 mm metal enclosure
The Analog Technologies ALRS12V8R4AT is a 100W enclosed switching power supply that converts 90-264VAC input to a regulated 12VDC output at 8.4A. Its low-profile metal chassis measures 1.5 inches (38mm) in height and includes a built-in long-life fan for active cooling. The unit is designed for industrial equipment, 3D printers, computer systems and LED lighting installations that require a compact, shielded DC source. It is not suited for applications needing multiple output voltages, higher wattage than 100W, or fanless silent operation.
Efficiency exceeds 85% at typical loads, reducing waste heat during continuous operation. The integrated fan maintains safe internal temperatures across an operating range of 10°C to 60°C, while the all-metal enclosure provides EMI shielding and structural rigidity. The supply withstands a 300VAC surge input for 5 seconds, adding resilience against mains transients. Acoustic output will be audible due to the forced-air design, so it is not intended for noise-sensitive environments.
This unit replaces older linear or lower-efficiency switching supplies where space is limited and reliability under vibration is critical — the chassis meets a 5G anti-vibration rating. The jump is worthwhile when moving from an open-frame design to a fully enclosed, shielded package, or when the wider 90-264VAC input range simplifies deployment across 110V and 220V mains regions. It does not address needs for programmable output, remote sensing, or redundant hot-swap configurations.

Use the four corner holes on the all-metal enclosure to secure it; connect the AC input to a 90V–264VAC source and the DC output to a 12V load, never reverse the polarity or exceed 8.4A.
Periodically clear dust from the fan intake and exhaust vents to maintain airflow; the fan is rated for continuous operation from 10°C to 60°C and has no user-serviceable parts.
Efficiency stays above 85% up to the 100W rating; if the load exceeds 8.4A or the internal temperature surpasses 60°C, over-current or over-temperature protection will shut the output down.
