The Antronix CMC2002H-A is a two-way horizontal splitter built for coaxial networks up to 1 GHz. It serves installers and system integrators who need reliable signal distribution for video, data and telephony services in residential or commercial premises.

Installation and common issues

The unit uses 1 inch port-to-port spacing with SCTE compliant F-ports sealed to 15 psi, so standard compression connectors fit without crowding. A zinc alloy diecast housing and 100 percent soldered back provide 120 dB RFI shielding, while 6 kV ring wave surge protection on all ports to IEEE C62.41 Category A3 guards against lightning events. Over-tightening connectors can damage the water-tight seal, and corrosion resistance depends on the nickel alloy plating remaining intact.

Capacity and headroom

Flat 1 GHz bandwidth with minimal insertion loss supports current multimedia loads and leaves headroom for future service upgrades up to 1002 MHz. The splitter operates from -40 to 60 degrees Celsius, so it handles outdoor and unconditioned spaces without thermal derating. It cannot amplify signals, so runs that exceed passive loss budgets will need an active amplifier elsewhere in the plant.
