Replacement Motor for Polaris PB4-60

The AO Smith B625 is a 3/4 horsepower pool pump motor built to replace the motor on a Polaris PB4-60 booster pump. It operates at 3600 RPM and uses a 56CZ frame with a 3-5/8" threaded shaft. This new motor runs on dual-voltage 115/230 V supply.

Voltage and Frame Compatibility

The single specification that decides fit is the 115/230 V dual-voltage rating combined with the 56CZ frame and 3-5/8" threaded shaft. These three details must match the existing booster pump exactly. The motor will not fit Hayward booster pumps.

Direct Installation Without Adaptation

Because the shaft, frame and voltage match the Polaris PB4-60 specification, the motor bolts in place without adapters or rewiring. The 6.4/12.8 amp draw at 115/230 V works with the existing circuit. No additional accessories or software are included.

Questions about this item

What does the 3/4 HP rating mean for daily pool cleaning?

The 3/4 horsepower motor delivers 3600 RPM to drive a Polaris PB4-60 booster pump, providing the pressure needed for pressure-side cleaners to scrub walls and vacuum debris effectively.

How does the 115/230 V dual-voltage design affect installation?

The motor can be wired for either 115 V or 230 V supply; at 115 V it draws 12.8 amps and at 230 V it draws 6.4 amps, so you choose the voltage that matches your existing circuit.

Will the 56CZ frame and 3-5/8" threaded shaft bolt onto my current pump housing?

The 56CZ frame with a 3-5/8 inch threaded shaft is designed as a direct replacement for the Polaris PB4-60 booster pump; it will not fit Hayward booster pump housings.
