This 6.6 ft DisplayPort 1.4 cable carries 32.4 Gbps over HBR3 with DSC 1.2 compression and FEC forward error correction. It supports 8K at 60 Hz, 5K at 60 Hz, 4K at 120 Hz and dual 4K at 60 Hz. Both ends use a male DisplayPort connector with a molded latch that locks in place and releases with a press.

Replaces shorter or lower-bandwidth DisplayPort

The step up is worthwhile when the source and display both support 8K 60 Hz or 4K 144 Hz and the previous cable limited you to 4K 60 Hz or lower. It also suits VR headsets that demand the full HBR3 data rate. If your hardware tops out at 4K 60 Hz the extra headroom will not be used.
