Questions about this item

Should I choose the 10 ft length or a shorter cable for my desk setup?

The 10 ft length gives you plenty of reach between a laptop and a monitor on a typical desk; choose a shorter cable only if the devices sit right next to each other and you want less slack.

What does the 80 Gbps bandwidth actually deliver when I plug this into my MacBook?

It carries the full DisplayPort 2.1 signal so you can run a 16K display at 60 Hz, an 8K panel at 120 Hz or a 4K screen at 240 Hz with G-Sync and FreeSync active.
