Cable Shielding Partition Black

The APC AR8172BLK is a cable management accessory designed to organise and separate power or data cables inside a rack or enclosure. It suits installers and system builders who need a tidy, structured layout for reliable airflow and easier maintenance.

Thermals noise and power

As a passive metal partition it adds no fan noise and draws no power while helping to guide airflow between cable bundles. The component simply mounts in place and requires no electrical connection or active cooling.

Questions about this item

How is the AR8172BLK cable shielding partition installed in a rack, and what alignment step is often missed?

The partition mounts to the rack's vertical rails using the included hardware; the step often missed is ensuring the shielding tabs face the cable pathway so they actually separate power from data bundles.

What maintenance or replacement will the AR8172BLK need over time?

No scheduled maintenance is required; inspect the mounting screws during rack audits and replace the partition only if the metal bends or the black finish corrodes from environmental exposure.
