Aperture amaran Octa Dome 90 Bowens Mount Softbox 35.43

Portable Octagonal Softbox for Creators

The amaran Octa Dome 90 is a 35.43" Bowens Mount softbox designed for photographers and videographers who need soft, round lighting in a compact form. Its octagonal shape produces natural catchlights and minimizes harsh shadows for flattering portraits and professional video. The collapsible frame allows for rapid deployment in fast-paced environments. It suits creators working in both studio and on-location settings.

Upgrade from Umbrellas or Smaller Modifiers

This softbox replaces shoot-through umbrellas or smaller softboxes when you require more controlled, even illumination across a larger scene. The 90cm diameter covers group shots and wider environmental scenes more effectively than compact modifiers. The jump is worth it when a single-snap setup and flat-pack portability are essential for location workflows. It is not for buyers who need a smaller footprint for tight interview setups.

Bowens Mount Compatibility and Collapsed Profile

The unit mounts directly to any Bowens-compatible light fixture without additional adapters. Its one-snap mechanism secures the frame in seconds, while the collapsed flat profile fits easily into gear bags for travel. The practical limit is the fixed 35.43" diameter; you cannot resize the modifier for tighter spaces. Users needing grid or egg-crate accessories must source Bowens-mount options separately.
