Cash drawer for compact POS stations

The APG Series 100 cash drawer fits tight counters while keeping a full-size till layout. Steel ball-bearing slides and a robust latch are rated beyond four million cycles for daily retail use. A 320 MultiPRO interface connects the drawer to compatible receipt printers or POS terminals. Black steel and plastic construction resists wear in demanding environments.

Passive operation with no fan noise

The unit has no moving cooling parts, so it adds zero acoustic load to a checkout area. Power is drawn only during the brief solenoid actuation when the drawer opens. No external power supply or active thermal management is required. The all-metal chassis dissipates the small heat pulse from each cycle without assistance.

Sustained heavy use without thermal limits

Because the mechanism is purely mechanical and the solenoid fires for milliseconds, repeated openings do not raise the chassis temperature. The four-million-cycle rating reflects continuous daily operation rather than a short burst test. Media slots and the deep under-till compartment stay accessible during extended shifts. No throttling or cool-down periods occur under normal retail loads.

Questions about this item

How is the MultiPRO 320 interface connected during installation and which step is often missed?

The drawer connects via the MultiPRO 320 interface cable to the POS printer or terminal; the step often missed is securing the cable strain-relief clip so the connector cannot work loose.

What maintenance will the steel ball-bearing slides and latch need after extended use?

The slides and latch are rated beyond 4 million cycles; periodic cleaning of debris and a light PTFE lubricant on the slide rails will maintain smooth operation.

What limit appears first during sustained high-volume use — cycle life or till capacity?

The 5 bill and 6 coin compartments fill before the 4 million-cycle rating is reached, so till capacity is the practical limit during busy periods.
