Apogee Electronics 3.2'/1m 30-pin Cable for Quartet Duet ONE

SKU CH-DMNT-ZCBY5

A 3.2 ft 30-pin cable connects Apogee Quartet, Duet or ONE to iPad and iPhone for sync and charge

  • Reliable connection for Apogee Quartet, Duet or ONE
  • 2 ft length gives flexible device placement
  • 30-pin connector fits legacy iPhone, iPad and iPod models
  • Durable construction withstands daily wear and tear
  • Supports both syncing and charging in one cable

Purpose and audience

This 30-pin cable connects Apogee Quartet, Duet or ONE audio interfaces to iPad, iPhone or iPod models that use the legacy Apple dock connector. It is built for musicians and mobile producers who need a reliable link between their interface and iOS device.

Deciding specification

The connector is a 30-pin Apple dock plug on one end and USB on the other, so it only works with devices that accept that specific legacy interface. Newer iPhone, iPad or iPod models that use Lightning or USB-C cannot use this cable.

Who should buy and who should not

Suits owners of Apogee Quartet, Duet or ONE units who still operate 30-pin iOS hardware such as iPhone 4/4s, iPad generations 1 to 4, iPad Mini or iPod Touch 4th and 5th generation. Buyers whose iOS devices have Lightning or USB-C ports need a different cable.

Questions about this item

What does the 30-pin connector do when plugged into an Apogee Quartet, Duet or ONE?

It carries audio, sync and charging signals between the interface and an iPad, iPhone or iPod so the device can record, play back and stay powered during a session.

Which interface standard does the cable use and what does that limit?

The cable uses the legacy Apple 30-pin dock connector, so it only fits devices released before the Lightning changeover and cannot connect to newer iPhone or iPad models.

What does the 3.2-foot length mean for placement on a desk or in a rack?

At roughly one metre long, the cable reaches from a tabletop interface to a nearby device stand without pulling tight, but it is too short to span a full equipment rack.
