1-1/2" Sweat Bronze Ball Valve
The Apollo 70LF24701 is a two-piece bronze ball valve with a 1-1/2 inch sweat connection for inline installation. It handles air or water media in residential or light-commercial plumbing systems. The chrome-plated bronze ball and standard port provide reliable two-way flow control. This valve is not suited for applications requiring 3-A sanitary compliance or combustible-gas ratings.
Thermals Noise and Power Draw
As a manual plumbing valve the product generates no heat, consumes no electricity and produces no audible noise during normal operation. Pressure ratings define its operating envelope instead of thermal limits. Maximum operating pressure is 600 psi for water and 150 psi for steam. Vacuum service is rated to 29 in Hg.
Included Components and Compliance
The valve ships as a single unit with a non-locking handle; no additional accessories, actuators or software are bundled. California Proposition 65 warnings apply because the product contains chemicals known to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. The item is not rated for 3-A standard compliance or combustible gas service.

Questions about this item
How do I sweat the 1-1/2" bronze ball valve onto copper pipe without damaging the chrome-plated ball?
Disassemble the two-piece body, remove the ball and seats, sweat the end connections, then reassemble once the joints have cooled to prevent heat damage to the chrome-plated ball.
Which internal parts will need replacement after extended service with water or air?
The PTFE seats and stem packing are the typical wear items; the chrome-plated bronze ball and bronze body generally last the life of the valve.
What pressure limit is reached first when the valve sees continuous 150 psi steam service?
The 150 psi steam rating is the limiting factor; the 600 psi cold working pressure and 29 in Hg vacuum rating are higher.
