What this adapter delivers

The Apple 20W USB-C Power Adapter supplies up to 20 watts of power for fast charging at home, in the office or while travelling. It is compatible with any USB-C enabled device and works with iPhone, AirPods, iPad and Apple Watch models. Apple recommends pairing it with iPad Pro or iPad Air for optimal performance.

Cable sold separately

The package contains only the wall charger itself; a USB-C charging cable is not included and must be purchased separately. This means you can select the cable length and durability that suit your setup, but you will need an additional item before you can charge any device.

Charging scope and limits

The adapter comfortably handles fast charging for iPhone 8 and later models as well as current iPad and AirPods devices. It will charge larger devices such as MacBook models, but at a slower rate because its maximum output is capped at 20 watts. Buyers needing higher wattage for laptops should look for a more powerful supply.

Questions about this item

Will the USB-C port on this 20W power adapter wear out and need replacement?

The USB-C port is built for repeated daily insertion and does not have a user-replaceable module; if the port ever fails the entire adapter would be replaced.

What limits continuous output when I charge an iPad Pro for hours?

The 20W rating is the sustained ceiling; the adapter will not exceed 20W even during extended sessions.

How hot or noisy does this 20W charger get when left plugged in all day?

It runs silently with no fan and stays cool to the touch during normal all-day use.
