What this iMac delivers

The 2017 27-inch all-in-one desktop ships new with a 4.2 GHz Core i7-7700K processor, 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a dual-drive layout that pairs a 2 TB hard drive with a 128 GB SSD. A 5120 x 2880 Retina 5K display, Radeon Pro 575 or 580 graphics and included keyboard and mouse complete a ready-to-work macOS system.

What to verify before ordering

This unit is a sealed all-in-one design so internal storage and memory cannot be swapped after purchase; confirm the 16 GB DDR4 capacity and the 2 TB plus 128 GB combination suit your workload. Ensure your workflow runs on macOS and that the four USB 3.0 ports plus dual Thunderbolt 3 connections cover the peripherals you plan to attach.

Thermals noise and power in daily use

The aluminum chassis tapers to 5 mm at the edges and uses internal airflow to cool the 14 nm Kaby Lake processor and Radeon graphics under normal loads. Fan noise stays low during typical office tasks and rises only when the CPU or GPU sustain heavy throughput. Power draw scales with the 4.2 GHz quad-core chip and the chosen Radeon 575 or 580 configuration.
