iPad 2 16 GB Wi-Fi tablet

The iPad 2 MC769LL/A is a 9.7-inch tablet with 16 GB of storage and 512 MB of memory. It runs on an Apple A5 1 GHz dual-core processor and connects via Wi-Fi 802.11n and Bluetooth 2.1. The silver unit is new and includes a 30-pin cable for charging and syncing.

Sustained use on A5 processor

The Apple A5 1 GHz dual-core processor with PowerVR SGX543MP2 graphics handles light browsing and media playback steadily. The manufacturer notes some sacrifices to speed compared to newer models. Battery life is rated at 10 hours for typical use, with the specifications listing greater than 5 hours.

iOS 9 software limit

The tablet can run up to iOS 9, so some current apps and features will not install or function. Buyers who need modern app compatibility or the latest iOS features should consider this limitation. The 16 GB storage and 512 MB memory also restrict the number of apps and media files that can be kept locally.

Questions about this item

How warm does the iPad 2 get and how much power does the 1 GHz Apple A5 draw when running all day?

The dual-core Apple A5 processor and PowerVR SGX543MP2 graphics are passively cooled in the 0.34-inch chassis; the 10-hour lithium-ion battery rating implies low sustained heat and modest power draw under typical use.

Which cables or accessories must I already own to charge and sync this Wi-Fi-only iPad 2?

This model uses the legacy 30-pin connector, so you need a 30-pin USB cable and a compatible USB power adapter; no USB ports are built into the tablet itself.

Will my older 802.11n router and Bluetooth 2.1 peripherals still work reliably with this iPad 2?

Yes — the tablet supports IEEE 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, matching those older standards directly for stable connectivity with existing networks and accessories.
