Questions about this item

What Wi-Fi standard does the iPad use and what is the practical ceiling?

It uses Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), which in practice caps well below its theoretical maximum due to single-stream antenna design and typical router congestion.

What physical ports and connectors are on the device for accessories and charging?

A Lightning connector for charging and data, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and the Smart Connector on the side for the Smart Keyboard.

How do I pair the 1st generation Apple Pencil and what step is often missed?

Remove the cap and plug the Pencil into the Lightning port; the pairing prompt appears on screen — tap Pair. Many forget to tap the prompt.
