What this iPad is and who it suits

The 10.2 inch Apple iPad released in 2020 comes with 128GB of built-in storage and 3GB of memory in Space Gray. It runs on Wi-Fi only and is aimed at students, casual users and anyone needing a reliable tablet for web browsing, streaming and light productivity. Buyers who require cellular connectivity or larger local storage should consider other options.

Thermals noise and power draw in daily use

The tablet uses passive cooling so it produces no fan noise during normal tasks such as video playback, document editing or web browsing. The included premium wall charger and USB cable deliver standard charging speeds for the internal battery. Surface temperatures stay comfortable during typical mixed workloads.

Behaviour under sustained load

During extended sessions like long video calls or continuous media playback the device maintains performance without active cooling. The aluminium chassis dissipates heat passively so the enclosure may become warm but remains within safe operating limits. No throttling occurs in everyday sustained scenarios.

Questions about this item

How do I install the aftermarket wall charger and USB cable that come in the box?

Plug the USB cable into the charger, connect the charger to a mains socket, then insert the cable into the iPad’s charging port. The step people miss is using only the supplied charger to maintain correct voltage.

What maintenance or replacement will the iPad 8th Gen 128GB need later?

The built-in lithium-ion battery loses capacity over time; expect shorter run-time after many full cycles and plan for a battery service.

What limit shows up first on the 10.2-inch iPad under sustained use?

The A12 Bionic processor throttles when the aluminium chassis reaches its thermal ceiling, so extended heavy workloads reduce clock speeds.
