iPad 5th Gen 32 GB Wi-Fi

The Apple iPad 5th generation A1822 is a 9.7-inch Wi-Fi tablet with 32 GB of storage and 2 GB of RAM. It runs iOS on a dual-core 1.8 GHz Apple A9 processor with an M9 motion coprocessor. The Space Gray model suits students, casual users and anyone needing a lightweight portable screen for media, email and web browsing.

Upgrade from iPad Air 2 or iPad 4

This model replaces the iPad Air 2 and the 4th generation iPad, adding the faster A9 chip, Touch ID fingerprint sensor and a brighter Retina display. The jump is worth it when you need smoother multitasking, secure unlocking and 1080p video recording at 30 fps. Buyers who want more storage or cellular connectivity should consider other configurations.

32 GB capacity and 2 GB RAM headroom

The 32 GB flash storage holds apps, photos, documents and offline media for typical daily use. The 2 GB of RAM keeps a handful of browser tabs and background apps responsive. Heavy offline video libraries, large game collections or professional creative workflows will run out of space or memory quickly.

Questions about this item

What are the exact screen dimensions and resolution of the 9.7 inch Retina display?

The 9.7 inch LED-backlit IPS touchscreen has a native resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels at 264 ppi, rendering over 3.1 million total pixels with an oleophobic coating.

How is the Touch ID fingerprint sensor set up on this iPad 5 model A1822?

During initial iOS setup you register a finger on the Home button; the step users often skip is adding a second finger or enabling the fallback passcode, which locks them out if the primary print fails.

When will the sealed 32GB flash storage or 2GB RAM need replacement on this MP2F2LL/A unit?

The 32GB storage and 2GB RAM are soldered to the logic board and not user-replaceable; only a battery service or logic-board swap by a technician addresses capacity or memory faults later.
