What this iPad is

The Apple iPad A2428 is a new 10.2 inch tablet with 32GB of built-in storage and 3GB of memory. It runs on the Apple A12 Bionic chip with Neural Engine and comes in a Gold finish. The Retina display offers a 2160 x 1620 resolution with True Tone technology. It ships with iPadOS 15.4 and includes an 8MP rear camera and a 1.2MP FaceTime HD front camera.

Who this suits and who it does not

This model suits users who need a cellular-unlocked tablet for everyday tasks, media consumption and light productivity on the go. Buyers who require more than 32GB of internal storage for large media libraries or offline files should consider a higher-capacity option. It is not intended for users who depend on the latest iPadOS features beyond the supported update path or who need a 12MP front camera for high-resolution video calls.

The specification that decides fit

The 32GB fixed storage capacity is the deciding factor because it cannot be expanded and determines how many apps, photos and offline files the device can hold. If that space fits your workflow, the A12 Bionic chip and cellular freedom make this a capable companion. If you anticipate needing more room, a model with larger built-in storage is the necessary alternative.

Questions about this item

Will the 32 GB built-in storage need an upgrade or external drive later?

The 32 GB internal storage is fixed and cannot be upgraded; you can add space with iCloud or Lightning-compatible external drives.

What limits performance first during long sessions with the A12 Bionic chip?

Sustained workloads are limited by thermal throttling of the A12 Bionic chip inside the 10.2-inch enclosure.

How loud or hot does the iPad A2428 get when used all day?

The fanless design stays silent; the aluminium back warms under load but remains within normal operating temperatures.
