What this iPad Mini 5 is

The Apple iPad Mini 5 A2133 is a new 7.9-inch tablet with 64GB storage and 3GB memory. It runs iOS 15.4 on a 1.5 GHz Apple A8 processor. The Retina IPS display shows 2048×1536 resolution with True Tone. Touchscreen input and Apple Pencil support are built in.

Who it suits and who should look elsewhere

This model fits buyers who want a compact iPad for reading, notes and light creative work with Apple Pencil. It is not for users who need cellular connectivity because this unit is WiFi only. Buyers who want more storage than 64GB should consider other configurations.

The specification that decides fit

The 7.9-inch 2048×1536 Retina display with True Tone and Apple Pencil support is the single specification that decides whether this is the right part for portable drawing and reading workflows.

Questions about this item

Will the 64GB storage need expansion later?

The 64GB is fixed internal storage with no card slot, so plan your apps and media around that capacity.

What limits sustained performance first, the A12 Bionic or the 3GB RAM?

The 3GB RAM will fill before the A12 Bionic throttles, so multitasking heavy apps hits the memory ceiling first.

How warm and loud does the 7.9 inch Retina display get during all-day use?

The fanless design stays silent; the aluminium chassis spreads warmth evenly, so it feels warm but not hot after hours of video or AR.
