Lightweight 9.7-inch tablet for everyday use

The Apple iPad Air with a 9.7-inch Retina display and 32 GB of storage is built for people who want a thin, light tablet for web browsing, email, video streaming and light productivity. It runs on the dual-core A7 processor with 1 GB of LPDDR3 RAM and connects via 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0. The Space Gray finish resists fingerprints with an oleophobic coating.

Check iOS support and wireless needs before ordering

This unit ships with iOS 9 and will not receive current operating-system updates, so app compatibility will shrink over time. Verify that your Wi-Fi network operates on 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz bands compatible with 802.11n. There is no cellular modem, so internet access requires a wireless network. The 32 GB capacity cannot be expanded, so confirm it fits your media and app library.

Replaces an older 9.7-inch iPad when you need

The 2048 x 1535 resolution delivers 3.1 million pixels, four times the detail of the non-Retina iPad 2 display. The 5 MP iSight camera captures 1080p video, while the 1.2 MP FaceTime camera handles 720p calls. Upgrading makes sense if your current tablet lacks a Retina screen, struggles with modern web pages or cannot run the apps you need on iOS 9.
