Compact iPad for light daily use

The 7.9 inch iPad Mini 4th Gen runs iOS 9 out of the box and can be updated to iOS 15.7. Its Apple A8 dual-core processor and 2GB RAM handle web browsing, email and media playback. The 16GB flash storage holds essential apps and documents. This Wi-Fi only tablet suits students or commuters who need a portable second screen.

Silent operation with modest power draw

The tablet has no fans so it runs completely silent during normal use. The 5124mAh battery powers the 1536 x 2048 IPS LCD for hours of reading or video streaming. The Apple A8 chipset sips power while driving the display at full brightness. Bluetooth 4.0 connects keyboards or headphones without noticeable drain on the single charge.

Fits small bags and simple workflows

The Lightning USB 2.0 port charges the device and syncs data with a computer. No NFC or expandable storage means you rely on cloud services for extra space. The 8.0MP rear camera and 1.2MP front camera cover video calls and quick scans. Buyers who want more storage or cellular data should consider other models.

Questions about this item

How do I move data onto the iPad Mini 4 using the Lightning port, and what mistake should I avoid?

Connect the Lightning cable to a computer or power adapter, then follow the on-screen setup in iOS 9; the common error is skipping the "Trust This Computer" prompt, which blocks file transfers until you tap Trust and enter the passcode.

What part will need replacement first on the iPad Mini 4, and how can I tell?

The 5124mAh lithium-ion battery is the first component to degrade; expect shorter run-time and unexpected shutdowns after several hundred charge cycles, at which point a professional battery swap restores full-day use.

Which hardware limit appears first during long sessions on the iPad Mini 4?

The Apple A8 chip with 2GB RAM hits thermal throttling and memory pressure before the 16GB storage fills, so sustained gaming or multitasking slows down as the system reduces clock speeds to manage heat.
