What this iPhone 8 delivers

The Apple iPhone 8 A1863 comes with 256GB of storage and runs iOS 15.4 on a 2.4 GHz A11 Bionic chip. Its 4.7-inch Retina HD display uses True Tone technology. A 12 MP camera includes optical image stabilisation and a sapphire crystal lens cover. The handset is fully unlocked and supports wireless charging.

Who should consider this phone

Buyers wanting a compact iPhone with Touch ID and a home button will find the familiar layout comfortable. The 256GB capacity gives plenty of room for apps, photos and local media without relying on cloud sync.

Who should look elsewhere

Users who need Face ID, a larger edge-to-edge screen or 5G connectivity will not find those features here. The Lightning port and single rear camera also limit accessory options and photographic flexibility compared with newer models.

Storage capacity and everyday headroom

256GB comfortably holds a large photo library, offline music collection and dozens of apps simultaneously. Heavy 4K video recording or extensive local movie downloads will eventually fill the space, so periodic offloading is advisable for power users.
