Steel cover with gasket and screws fits FM7 conduit bodies for hazardous-location Class I Division 2 use and is UL Listed E2527
The Appleton Century Crofts APP970IG conduit body cover is built from steel for use with Appleton FM7 Unilet conduit outlet bodies. It suits installations that require a Class I, Division 2 hazardous-location rating and UL Listed E2527 compliance. The transparent finish allows visual inspection of the interior without removal. This cover is not for buyers who need a non-metallic enclosure or a fitting for standard dry locations only.
The steel construction dissipates heat from enclosed connections and maintains grounding continuity in conduit runs. Screw-in mounting with the included gasket seals the fitting against dust and moisture ingress. No active cooling or power draw is involved, so noise is not a factor. This cover is not for installers who require forced-air ventilation or integrated temperature monitoring.
Each unit ships with mounting screws and a gasket, eliminating separate parts orders for the FM7 series. The screw-in connection type secures the cover without special tools. UL listing confirms the assembly meets the required standard when fitted correctly. This cover is not for projects that demand tool-less latch mechanisms or pre-wired terminal blocks.

Thread the cover onto the FM7 body using the included screws and gasket; the step often missed is seating the gasket evenly before tightening so the hazardous-location seal remains intact.
Inspect the steel cover and gasket periodically for corrosion or compression set; replace the gasket if it no longer compresses uniformly, and replace the cover if threads or sealing surfaces show damage.
The gasket’s compression set is the first limit; once it no longer rebounds, the UL Listed E2527 seal for hazardous locations can be compromised.
