Hazardous-location flexible coupling with 12 in bronze flex connects 1/2 in IMC or RMC conduit where vibration or movement occurs
The Appleton EXLK-112 is a hazardous-location flexible coupling designed for 1/2 in trade-size IMC or RMC conduit runs. It connects a female NPT thread to a male NPT thread and accommodates movement or vibration in Class I, II and III Division 1 and 2 areas. Bronze construction provides corrosion resistance in demanding industrial environments.
The 12 in flexible section allows multi-angle orientation between rigid conduit sections, reducing stress on fittings when equipment shifts or vibrates. Its 17 1/16 in overall length spans the gap while maintaining the hazardous-location rating across Groups A through G. The plain bronze finish requires no additional coating for the rated environments.
Verify that the conduit system uses 1/2 in trade-size IMC or RMC and that both termination points provide 1/2 in NPT threads — one female, one male. Confirm the area classification matches Class I Division 1 or 2 Groups A–D, Class II Division 1 or 2 Groups E–G, or Class III. Ensure the 12 in flex length and 17 1/16 in overall length suit the available space and movement range.

The bronze flexible coupling is built for continuous service in hazardous locations; no scheduled replacement interval exists, but inspect the 12 in flex for fatigue or corrosion during routine conduit-system checks.
The 12 in bronze flex absorbs multi-angle movement up to its 17 1/16 in overall length; the practical limit is the range of angular deflection before the 1/2 in FNPT x MNPT threads bind.
The coupling itself generates no heat; it simply joins IMC or RMC conduit, so conductor temperature rise depends entirely on the wire fill and ambient conditions of the 1/2 in raceway.
