X-style conduit outlet body for 1 in threaded IMC

The Appleton Century Crofts GUX100 is a new iron conduit outlet body designed for indoor and outdoor electrical installations. Its X-style body provides multi-angle connection orientation for 1 in trade size threaded IMC conduit runs. The gray triple-coat epoxy finish protects the iron housing from corrosion in exposed locations.

19 cu in body capacity determines wire-fill

The single specification that decides fit is the 19 cu in body capacity, which governs the maximum number and size of conductors permitted by code. A compatible cover is included, and the hub size matches the 1 in trade size conduit. Installers must verify this volume against their specific conductor count before purchase.

Triple-coat epoxy finish handles indoor

The iron construction with triple-coat epoxy coating dissipates heat from conductors operating at normal load without requiring additional cooling measures. No moving parts or fans are present, so the outlet body operates silently. Power draw is zero as this is a passive raceway component, not an electrical load.

Questions about this item

How does the 19 cu in body capacity translate when pulling conductors through the X‑style hub?

The 19 cu in volume gives room for multiple 1 in threaded IMC conductors and splices in the X‑style body, reducing congestion during pulls.

What does the 1 in threaded hub limit in actual installation?

The 1 in threaded hub accepts only 1 in trade size threaded IMC conduit, capping the maximum conduit diameter you can connect.

What clearance is needed to mount the 5.300 length iron body with its round back?

The 5.300 length body with round back requires enough depth for the 6 1/8 in overall length and 4 1/4 in width to secure the triple‑coat epoxy iron housing.
