A reducing bushing connects 2 in and 2-1/2 in IMC conduit with hazardous-location ratings
This Appleton Electric RB250-200 reducing bushing connects 2 inch and 2-1/2 inch IMC or threaded RMC conduit. The female-to-male NPT threaded fitting measures 1-1/4 inches overall length and weighs 0.56 lb. Iron construction features chromate, powder coat and electroplated finishes for corrosion resistance in demanding environments.
The fitting carries Class I Division 1 and 2 Groups B C D, Class I Zone 1 and 2 Groups IIA IIB+H2, Class II Division 1 and 2 Groups E F G and Class III ratings. Installers working in hazardous areas can use this bushing to transition between conduit trade sizes while maintaining code compliance. Electricians on non-hazardous projects do not need this level of certification.
The single specification that decides fit is the 2 in FNPT by 2-1/2 in MNPT thread combination. This bushing only works where a female 2 inch thread must accept a male 2-1/2 inch thread on compatible IMC or threaded RMC conduit. Any other thread size or conduit type requires a different fitting.

| Product type | Cable Management & Conduit |
It connects a 2 inch female NPT thread to a 2-1/2 inch male NPT thread for IMC or threaded RMC conduit.
Thread the male end into the larger conduit fitting and the female end receives the smaller conduit; the common error is cross-threading the tapered NPT threads.
Inspect the chromate, powder coat and electroplated finish regularly for corrosion or damage; replace the bushing if the coating is compromised or threads are worn.
