A pack of ten threaded reducing bushings connects 3½-inch and 4-inch conduit in hazardous locations
This Appleton RB400350 reducing bushing connects 3-1/2 inch and 4 inch threaded conduit in hazardous locations. It is a malleable iron fitting with chromate, powder and electroplated finishes rated for Class I, II and III divisions. Each pack contains ten pieces for conduit management projects.
Electricians working in Class I Division 1 or 2 locations with Groups B, C, D and Class II Groups E, F, G will find this fitting approved for their hazardous-area conduit runs. It is not suited for installations that require non-threaded couplings or plastic conduit systems.
The bushing installs by threading the 3-1/2 inch FNPT end onto the smaller conduit and the 4 inch MNPT end into the larger fitting. Careful alignment prevents cross-threading the iron threads. Over-tightening can damage the protective coating and compromise the hazardous-location rating.
