Thunderbolt 4 bandwidth and display limits

Thunderbolt 4 provides up to 40 Gb/s of shared bandwidth for data, video and power across all active ports. The dock drives two external displays at up to 8K 30 Hz, 6K 60 Hz, 5K 60 Hz or 4K 60 Hz. Resolutions include 7680 x 4320, 6144 x 3456, 5120 x 2880 and 3840 x 2160. Total throughput divides among connected devices so peak rates on every port cannot be sustained simultaneously.

Thunderbolt 4 host requirement

The dock requires a host port that implements Thunderbolt 4; a standard USB-C port without Thunderbolt signalling will not provide video, full bandwidth or charging.
