Ground-Mount Skid for STORM 700x
This stainless steel skid bolts to the bottom of an Aputure STORM 700x so the fixture can sit flat on the floor without tipping. A rear cutout clears the head cable while the light tilts up or down. The accessory also remains compatible when a CF10 Fresnel with barndoors is mounted on the fixture. Rental houses and on-location crews can use it on shelves or carts as well.
Thermals, Noise and Power Draw
The skid is a passive metal frame with no fans, electronics or moving parts, so it adds no heat, no audible noise and draws zero power. Its stainless steel construction simply transfers the fixture’s existing weight to a broader footprint for stability. No thermal management or electrical budget is required from the user.
Sustained Load Behaviour
Under continuous use the skid maintains the same rigid support because it has no components that can fatigue or overheat. The stainless steel does not deform under the STORM 700x’s weight, and the cable cutout prevents strain on the head cable during repeated tilt adjustments. Long shoots or multi-day rentals see no change in stability or clearance.

Questions about this item
How do you attach the stainless steel skid to the bottom of the STORM 700x without blocking the head cable?
The skid fastens to the fixture base and includes a rear cutout that gives the head cable clearance while you tilt the light up or down.
What part of this accessory might wear out first after repeated location use?
The stainless steel frame itself is the only component; no moving parts or consumables are present, so no scheduled replacement is required.
What practical limit appears first when the skid is used continuously on a cart or shelf?
The skid is a passive support with no thermal or electrical limits; its only constraint is the physical space needed for the rear cable cutout.
