Archival Methods Drop Front Box 1.5" 8.5" x 10.5" Tan

Archival Drop-Front Box

The Archival Methods Drop Front Box measures 1.5 inches deep by 8.5 by 10.5 inches and is made from heavyweight archival-grade boxboard. Its hinged drop-front panel on the long side allows easy access to contents without removing the entire lid. Corrosion-treated metal edge clamps provide rigidity and high stacking strength. This tan box suits artists, photographers, and collectors preserving prints, photos, and flat documents.

Long-Term Material Stability

The boxboard is manufactured from fully bleached, high alpha cellulose pulp with no post-consumer recycled content. Lignin content measures a Kappa number of 5 or less via the phloroglucinol test. Paper contains a minimum of 3 percent calcium carbonate buffer with a pH range of 8 to 9.5. Reducible sulfur is below 0.0008 percent, iron impurities do not exceed 150 ppm, and copper stays under 6 ppm. No optical brighteners, waxes, plasticizers, or residual bleach are present.

Upgrade from Standard Storage

This box replaces ordinary cardboard or plastic containers that lack verified archival specifications. The jump is worth it when storing valuable originals such as digital prints, musical scores, pamphlets, letters, or newspapers that require minimal handling and proven chemical inertness. It is not suited for buyers who need deeper boxes for bulky objects or multiple compartments for organisation.
