Archival-Grade Letter Folders

These Archival Methods file folders use 10-point acid-free and lignin-free card stock to protect documents and photographs from long-term deterioration. They meet stringent archival specifications for permanent retention and are sold in a 50-pack for institutional or personal collections.

Stable Storage Characteristics

The acid-free and lignin-free board stock prevents chemical migration that can yellow or embrittle paper over time. Each folder is bottom-scored so the capacity can be folded up to a half-inch, keeping contents flat without stress on the material.

Half-Inch Top Tab System

A half 1-inch top tab provides a consistent labeling surface for efficient categorisation across the full pack. The pre-cut letter dimensions of 9-5/8 by 11-3/4 inches ensure standard documents fit without folding or overhang. These folders are not suited for legal-size paperwork or high-volume expansion beyond the scored limit.

Questions about this item

How do I assemble the folders and which scored line should I fold on?

Fold along the bottom score line to create up to a half-inch expansion; the score is pre-pressed so the folder folds cleanly without cracking the 10-point stock.

Will the acid-free and lignin-free stock need any special storage conditions or replacement over time?

The material meets archival specifications and requires no chemical replenishment; store in a stable, low-humidity environment to maintain its protective qualities indefinitely.

At what point does the half-inch expansion limit how many sheets I can add?

The folder expands to a half-inch thickness, which typically holds around 50 standard letter-size sheets before the tab alignment and closure become strained.
