Materials and Construction

Kappa binder's board core with no inter-layer glue is lined with 80 lb acid- and lignin-free paper and wrapped in F-Grade Buckram with a moisture-resistant acrylic coating. A pH-balanced adhesive, reinforced hinge and close-tolerance fit keep dust out while the box passes the Photographic Activity Test.

Critical Dimension

The interior depth of 2 inches determines how many prints, photographs or documents can be stored without bending or stacking pressure. Buyers needing shallower or deeper storage must select a different model.

Questions about this item

Will the acid-free lining or buffered adhesive need replacement to maintain archival protection?

The box uses 80 lb. acid- and lignin-free paper lining with pH-balanced, buffered adhesive containing less than .0008% sulfur, materials chosen for long-term stability without scheduled replacement.

What limits how many prints or documents fit inside the 12x16x2" box?

The interior measures 12.75x16-5/8" with a 2-inch depth, so the physical volume of that space is the only capacity limit for flat items.

Does the F-Grade Buckram cover or the reinforced hinge create noticeable heat or odor during all-day display?

The cover is a poly-cotton buckram with a 100% aqueous acrylic coating and the hinge is reinforced board; neither component generates heat or off-gasses during continuous use.
