Electric arc lighter with flexible neck

The ARECTECH TUS-587 uses plasma arc technology to light candles, stoves and grills without an open flame. Its 4.1 in flexible neck rotates 360 degrees so the tip reaches wicks and burners at any angle. A child-proof safety switch and automatic seven-second power-off prevent accidental ignition. The gold stainless steel body measures 10.59 in by 4.92 in by .75 in.

Sustained use and recharge cycle

The built-in battery recharges through a standard USB cable using a 5 V 1 A slow charger; fast chargers are not recommended. Each charge provides multiple lighting sessions for indoor or outdoor tasks such as camping, fireworks or gas hobs. Windproof plasma arcs stay lit in breezy conditions where traditional flames would blow out. The seven-second auto-off limits continuous arcing to protect the electronics.

Build quality and everyday handling

Stainless steel construction resists corrosion and feels solid in the hand. A hanging hook on the base lets the lighter hang from a utensil rack or belt loop for quick access. The safety switch sits below the power button, requiring a deliberate two-step action before the arc activates. Included in the box are the lighter, a USB charging cable and a user manual.

Questions about this item

How hot does the arc get when the lighter runs continuously for a long BBQ session?

The plasma arc is windproof and flameless, so it does not produce an open flame that builds heat; the 7-second automatic power-off chip limits continuous operation to short bursts.

What charger do I already need to recharge the USB battery?

Use a standard 5 V 1 A USB charger; fast chargers above 5 V can damage the lighter's electronics.

Will the 360° rotatable 4.1 in neck clear the grates on my older gas stove?

The flexible neck rotates fully and extends 4.1 in, letting you reach burners on most traditional stoves without leaning over the cooktop.
