A 495W/500W AC power supply with rear-to-front airflow for Arista 7050X and 7280 series 1RU switches
This 495/500 W AC power module is built for Arista 7050X and 7280 series 1RU switches. It delivers the rated output required to keep those platforms running in data centre racks. Network engineers and infrastructure teams select it when a direct-replacement or spare unit is needed for supported Arista hardware.
The rear-to-front airflow direction pulls cool air from the cold aisle through the chassis and exhausts it to the hot aisle. This orientation matches standard data centre hot-aisle/cold-aisle layouts and prevents recirculation inside the rack. The AC input connects directly to facility power without additional converters or adapters.
It serves as a drop-in replacement for the original Arista power supply in 7050X and 7280 1RU switches when a unit fails or a redundant slot is empty. The upgrade is justified when the switch shows power-alarm alerts, when a second module is required for N+1 redundancy, or when a maintenance window allows proactive swap-out. Not suitable for switches outside the 7050X/7280 1RU family or for front-to-rear airflow deployments.

The unit operates on standard AC mains and supplies up to 500 W to the switch, with a 495 W rating under typical load.
It slides into the dedicated power-supply bay of a 1RU Arista 7050X or 7280 and exhausts air toward the front panel.
Insert the module until the latch clicks, then secure the captive screw; the step often missed is tightening that screw to lock the unit in place.
