Compatible drum cartridge for Brother DR420

This compatible drum cartridge replaces the Brother DR420 unit and works with HL-L2220, HL-L2230, HL-L2240, HL-L2270, HL-L2280, DCP-7060, DCP-7065 and MFC-7360 printers. It is a new aftermarket component designed for monochrome laser devices in small offices or home workspaces. The cartridge installs directly into the listed models without modification.

Steady output over long print runs

The drum maintains consistent image density across extended jobs rather than fading after the first few hundred pages. Its wear rate matches the original specification so scheduled replacements stay predictable. Offices that print daily batches will see stable quality until the rated life ends. Users needing colour output or higher-volume duty cycles should choose a different product.

Questions about this item

Does the DR420 drum unit generate noticeable noise or heat during long print runs?

The compatible drum cartridge is a passive component with no moving parts of its own, so it adds no fan noise or extra heat beyond what the HL-L2220, 2230, 2240, 2270, 2280, DCP-7060, 7065 or MFC-7360 printer already produces.

Do I need a separate toner cartridge for the DR420 drum to work in my HL-L2240?

Yes, the drum unit only holds the imaging drum; you must also install a Brother TN-420 or compatible toner cartridge for the printer to produce output.
