The scrim slides into the accessory slot of compatible Arri fixtures or drops into a standard 9-inch scrim holder for immediate use. Its rigid metal frame keeps the dual screens flat, preventing warping that could cause uneven density; the only common issue is forgetting to seat the frame fully, which lets stray light leak around the edges.

Practical Limits of Metal Scrims

Because the diffusion material is a fixed metal mesh, the scrim reduces output but does not soften shadows or change the beam's character. It cannot replace a silk or grid for shaping light, and stacking multiple scrims eventually introduces moiré patterns or hot-spots that the mesh structure cannot resolve.
