Intel Core Ultra 9 285K desktop

This system ships with a 24-core Intel Core Ultra 9 285K processor running at 5.7GHz on the LGA 1851 platform. It targets gamers and creators who need high single-thread speed plus multi-thread throughput in a pre-built chassis. The 64GB DDR5 memory and 4TB NVMe SSD provide capacity for large projects and modern titles.

Upgrade from mid-range builds

The configuration replaces rigs built around 20-core 3.4GHz chips, 8GB GDDR7 graphics and 2TB storage with a 12GB GDDR7 RTX 5070, 64GB DDR5 and 4TB NVMe. The jump is worth it when 1440p or 4K gaming, heavy multitasking or content workloads exceed the memory and storage headroom of those earlier setups.

240mm liquid cooling under load

A 240mm liquid cooler manages the CPU during extended sessions while the 850W power supply feeds the full platform. Thermals stay controlled during long renders or gaming marathons rather than only in short bursts. Components brands may vary across production batches.

The 240 mm liquid cooler requires a 240 mm radiator mount inside the Gigabyte C301 GLASS case; check the chassis specifications for supported radiator positions.

How is the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K seated in the LGA 1851 socket, and what step is often missed?

Align the triangle markers, lower the CPU gently, close the retention lever, then apply thermal paste before fitting the 240 mm liquid cooler block.

Which components can be upgraded later using the four DDR5 slots and PCI Express x16 interface?

The four DDR5 slots support up to 64 GB total memory, and the PCI Express x16 slot accepts a replacement graphics card such as another RTX 5070.
