Dual GPU workstation for AI and compute

The ArsenalPC MES2X pairs a 12-core Ryzen 9 9900X running at 4.4GHz with two GeForce RTX 5090 cards. 256GB of DDR5 memory across four modules supports large datasets and parallel workloads. The system ships with Windows 11 on an 8TB NVMe array.

Power and thermal limits of the platform

A 1600W power supply feeds both GPUs and the CPU under sustained load. A 360mm liquid cooler manages the processor heat while the dual GPU layout demands strong case airflow. Component brands may vary so exact connector counts and cable routing are not fixed.

Capacity headroom for training and rendering

8TB of NVMe storage holds model checkpoints and source assets without frequent offloading. 256GB DDR5 keeps multiple large models resident in memory at once. Dual RTX 5090 GDDR7 cards scale VRAM-bound tasks until the 1600W ceiling or thermal envelope is reached.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 256 GB DDR5 kit or a smaller capacity?

The workstation ships with 256 GB DDR5 memory installed as four 64 GB modules, so no smaller capacity is offered for this build.

What does the 4.4 GHz Ryzen 9 9900X deliver in daily workloads?

Its 12 cores at 4.4 GHz give strong multi-thread throughput for rendering, simulation and large-model inference while keeping single-thread speed high for interactive tasks.

How does the dual RTX 5090 GDDR7 setup affect GPU memory bandwidth?

Each RTX 5090 provides its own GDDR7 frame buffer, doubling total VRAM and aggregate bandwidth compared with a single card, limited only by the PCIe link and 1600 W supply.
