AM5 platform board for Ryzen 7000.

The ASRock B850 Riptide WiFi is an ATX motherboard built around the AMD B850 chipset and AM5 socket. It accepts Ryzen 7000, 8000 and 9000 series processors. Four 288-pin DDR5 slots support dual-channel memory up to 256 GB with AMD EXPO and Intel XMP 3.0 profiles. ECC un-buffered modules are supported.

14+2+1 phase 80A Dr.MOS power and Gen5 M.2

A 14+2+1 phase design uses 80A Dr.MOS for VCore and SOC delivery. One Blazing M.2 socket runs at PCIe 5.0 x4 (128 Gb/s) for 2280 drives. Three Hyper M.2 sockets run at PCIe 4.0 x4 (64 Gb/s) for 2260 or 2280 drives. Four SATA 6Gb/s ports add further storage.

PCIe 5.0 x16 slot scales with CPU generation

The primary PCIe 5.0 x16 slot operates at Gen5 x16 with Ryzen 9000 and 7000 series CPUs, Gen4 x8 with 8000 Phoenix 1 series and Gen4 x4 with 8000 Phoenix 2 series. A second PCIe 4.0 x16 slot runs at x4 mode. This behaviour decides whether a graphics card or add-in card receives full bandwidth.

Questions about this item

Does the 14+2+1 phase power design with 80A Dr.MOS components require any specific cooling or maintenance over time?

The 14+2+1 phase design uses 80A Dr.MOS for VCore and SOC; no user-serviceable parts are on the VRM heatsinks, so maintenance is limited to keeping case airflow clear of dust.

What limits PCIe 5.0 x16 bandwidth on the primary slot when a Ryzen 8000 series CPU is installed?

With Ryzen 8000 Phoenix 1 the slot runs at Gen4x8, and with Phoenix 2 at Gen4x4, so the CPU generation itself is the first bottleneck under sustained load.

How loud does the board get when all four M.2 slots and the 80A VRM are saturated for hours?

The board has no active cooling; noise depends entirely on case fans and CPU cooler, while the VRM and M.2 heatsinks dissipate heat passively.
