A 1U rackmount barebone with 12 hot-swap 2.5" NVMe bays, 12 DDR5 DIMM slots, dual 1600W PSUs and an SP5 socket for AMD EPYC 9004/9005 CPUs
The ASRock Rack 1U12E-GENOA/EVAC is a 1U rackmount server barebone with a single SP5 socket for AMD EPYC 9005 or 9004 series processors. It includes a 1+1 redundant 1600W power supply, 12 DIMM slots for DDR5 RDIMM and RDIMM-3DS modules, and twelve 2.5-inch hot-swap NVMe bays running at PCIe 5.0 x4. Two full-height PCIe 5.0 x16 slots, two M.2 slots and an OCP NIC 3.0 slot provide internal expansion. Remote management is handled through IPMI.
This platform suits deployments that need high core counts and fast local storage in a single rack unit, such as virtualization clusters, database nodes or HPC head units. Builders who require dual-socket scaling, more than twelve memory channels, or front-access 3.5-inch drive bays should look at a different chassis. The fixed 1600W redundant supply also limits use in environments that demand DC input or lower power budgets.
The twelve hot-swap 2.5-inch bays each deliver a PCIe 5.0 x4 link directly to the CPU, giving maximum flash bandwidth without a switch bottleneck. If the workload needs that many high-speed NVMe devices in 1U, this barebone matches the requirement; if fewer bays are sufficient, a system with fewer drive slots may reduce cost and complexity.

The unit is a barebone chassis; the AMD EPYC 9004 or 9005 series processor and DDR5 RDIMM modules are not included and must be sourced separately.
Both EPYC 9004 and 9005 series CPUs are supported on the single SP5 socket, so the choice depends on the performance tier and core count required for the workload.
Twelve hot-swap 2.5-inch bays each provide a direct PCIe 5.0 x4 link to the CPU, enabling up to 12 NVMe drives at full Gen5 bandwidth without a switch.
