1U rackmount barebone supporting single AMD EPYC 7002/7003 CPUs, eight DDR4 DIMM slots, ten hot-swap 2.5″ bays, dual 10GbE and redundant 750W PSUs
The ASRock Rack 1U8S2E-ROME/2T is a 1U rackmount barebone designed for general-purpose server workloads. It arrives with a single SP3 socket ready for AMD EPYC 7002 or 7003 series processors, including 3D V-Cache models with a BIOS update. No CPU or memory is installed, so integrators supply their own components. Redundant 750W power supplies are included.
This platform fits builders who need up to ten hot-swap 2.5-inch drive bays — two supporting NVMe and eight SATA — plus an M.2 slot for boot or cache. Dual 10GbE ports and a full-height PCIe 4.0 x16 slot handle networking and expansion. Buyers requiring dual-socket performance, GPU compute density, or 3.5-inch drive support should evaluate other form factors.
The single LGA4094 socket accepts only AMD EPYC 7002 and 7003 series processors listed in the vendor compatibility table. Selecting a supported CPU determines core count, clock speed and thermal envelope for the deployment. Memory capacity scales through eight DDR4 RDIMM, LRDIMM or 3DS slots up to 256GB per DIMM.
