The ASRock Rack 2U24E2S-ROME is a 2U rackmount barebone designed for storage-heavy workloads. It targets system integrators and IT teams building dense NVMe arrays around a single AMD EPYC 7002 or 7003 series processor. No CPU or memory is installed, so the buyer supplies both.

Sustained load with 24 NVMe bays

A passive 24-port backplane connects every front 2.5-inch bay directly to the CPU PCIe 4.0 lanes, giving each drive a full x4 link without oversubscription. Two rear 2.5-inch bays add SATA or SAS capacity through an optional HBA or RAID card. The single low-profile PCIe 4.0 x8 slot remains free for that adapter or a NIC.

Redundant power and IPMI access

Dual 1200W redundant power supplies keep the chassis running through a unit failure. The Aspeed AST2500 BMC provides a dedicated IPMI port for out-of-band management. Dual Intel i350 1GbE ports handle data traffic, while front USB 3.2 Gen1 ports allow quick local access. Sixteen 288-pin DDR4 3200 slots support RDIMM, LRDIMM and 3DS modules up to the platform limit.
