Supports 8th and 9th Gen Intel Core CPUs with four DDR4 slots up to 128 GB, three PCIe 3.0 x16 slots, eight SATA 6Gb/s ports, three M.2 sockets, dual Gigabit LAN and 7.1 audio
The ASRock Z390 Taichi is an ATX motherboard built on the Intel Z390 chipset. It accepts 8th and 9th Generation Intel Core i7, i5 and i3 processors in the LGA 1151 socket. The board provides four DDR4 memory slots with dual-channel architecture and a maximum capacity of 128 GB. It also includes dual Gigabit LAN ports and Realtek ALC1220 7.1-channel audio.
This board suits builders assembling a new system or upgrading an existing LGA 1151 platform with 8th or 9th Generation Core CPUs. It delivers three full-length PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots for multi-GPU configurations, eight SATA 6Gb/s ports and three Ultra M.2 sockets for storage expansion. Users with 10th Generation or newer Intel processors cannot use this socket and must select a different motherboard.
The single specification that decides fit is the CPU socket: LGA 1151 (300 Series). Only 8th and 9th Generation Intel Core i7, i5 and i3 processors are supported. Memory runs at DDR4 2666 natively with a long list of overclocked speeds up to DDR4 4200+. If your processor is not on that supported list, this motherboard will not work.
