Two-pack black toner for HP 138A printers

This twin pack supplies two 138A W1380A black toner cartridges built as replacements for the HP 138A originals. They are aimed at home offices and small businesses that print regularly on compatible HP LaserJet Pro 3001dw, 3001fdw and MFP 3101fdw devices. Each cartridge arrives individually sealed and ready to install. The set suits users who want a spare on hand without ordering single units repeatedly.

Laser printing thermals and power profile

Laser printing fuses toner with heat, so the printer draws its highest power during warm-up and each printed page. The cartridges themselves add no extra heat or noise beyond the printer’s normal operation. Typical office use sees the device return to low-power standby between jobs, keeping energy draw and acoustic output at the levels specified for the host printer. No additional cooling or power provision is required from the cartridges.

Chip-equipped cartridges for direct fit

Each unit carries an upgraded chip that communicates with the supported HP models for drop-in recognition and page-count tracking. The mechanical moulding matches the OEM footprint, so the cartridges seat in the standard toner bay without force or adapters. Individual sealed packaging protects the drum and toner from light and humidity until installation. The design targets straightforward replacement by any user, with no tools or firmware steps needed.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 138A W1380A cartridge in my HP LaserJet Pro 3001dw and what step is often missed?

Open the front door, pull the old cartridge straight out, remove the orange protective cover and sealing tape from the new 138A unit, then slide it in until it clicks. The step people skip is pulling the sealing tape completely clear before insertion.

What part of the 138A W1380A will need replacement after the 1,500-page yield is reached?

The entire toner cartridge is the replaceable unit. Once the 1,500-page yield at 5% coverage is reached, you replace the cartridge itself; there is no separate drum or waste bottle to service on this model.

What limit appears first during a long print run with the 138A W1380A?

The 1,500-page yield rating is the first limit you will hit. After that volume the toner is depleted and print density drops, so a fresh cartridge is required to continue printing.
